Day 1 Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham

7:30 AM pick up from your hotel and today we will ride to Kampong Cham from Phnom Penh is the best way to begin a tour in Cambodia. There are great roads through villages, agriculture, and local industry and by late afternoon you will find yourself having a drink by the Mekong River.

Day 2 Kampong Cham to Kratie

Kratie is charming and the ride through the quaint villages along the east bank of the Mekong from Kampong Cham is such a highlight. Spend the afternoon on a dolphin encounter tour and soak up the relaxed vibes of Kratie.

Day 3 Kratie to Sen Monorom

Sen Monorom is just a village, even though it’s the provincial capital of Mondulkiri. 

It’s a beautiful place and home to the minority Bunong people who have an extraordinary affinity with elephants. 

The last 50 km into town is just fabulous for riders; hills, bends, and beautiful scenery. 

The province borders Vietnam and due to the cooler climate coffee is grown here.

Day 4 Sen Monorom to Ban Lung

The capital of Ratanakiri is Ban Lung. The province borders both Laos and Vietnam and is famous for its gems and wildlife. 

Ratanakiri is home to many endangered and rare species such as gibbons, clouded leopards, elephants, and sun bears.

Just on the outskirts of Ban Lung is the beautiful 4000-year-old Boeung Yeak Lom (volcanic crater lake). It’s circular, extremely deep with crystal clear emerald water, and is a popular picnic and swimming spot.

Day 5 Ban Lung to Preah Rumkel

Right on the border of Laos is Preah Rumkel, a small community-based village homestay. It’s really in the middle of nowhere and lies on the banks of the Mekong. One of the highlights of the day is the Mekong Riverboat cruise.

Day 6 Preah Rumkel to Krong Preh Vihear

Krong Preah Vihear is a sleepy town. We stay at a guesthouse with a difference, because it’s run by our favorite Cambodian family. Mum and her two daughters spoil us rotten every time we go there. It’s not the fanciest guesthouse but it is the most welcoming and genuine in the whole of Cambodia.

Day 7 Krong Preah Vihear to Siem Reap

Siem Reap is now the third-largest city in Cambodia, it was once a small village but due to the sheer number of tourists, it’s expanding at a rapid rate. There is so much nightlife, restaurants and bars you won’t know what to do with yourself after being in the countryside. It’s a popular place because it’s the home of one of the most famous attractions in the world, Angkor Wat.

Day 8 Siem Reap
